1. Just like you have a bug-out bag for yourself, make sure to pack one for your pet as well. Include at least a 72-hour worth of food, water, and medication.
2. Pack a leash, collar, and identification tags. We had specialty collars made with our dog's name and my phone number in case they get separated from us.
4. Make sure to have your pet's medical records, vaccinations, easily accessible in case you need to show them to authorities
5. make sure to have a plan in place for how to safely transport your pet.
6. They're going to feel your anxiety and stress. So make sure to have special treats and their favorite toys along.
7. You should already have a plan in place for your destination. make sure that the destination is pet friendly as well.
9. Keep them collared with their Id on the collars at all times once you leave the house. Never let them out of the car without their leash
10. Think of your pets as family members with special needs.
