Risks of Buying and Selling Property

Is buying and selling a property risky? To succeed with property flipping it should be treated as a business, not a hobby and like any business there are risks involved. However, relative to other business ventures I've set up over the years, I found that the degree of risk involved in flipping property is comparatively low. When I had a recruitment business I had large overheads including staff and pricey central London based offices. If the company had a bad month in sales those costs still had to be paid. When I set up and ran an ecommerce business selling sports equipment online I took some big risks too. I would ship products from China to the UK or the US, sometimes big orders worth over $100,000 in value. The demand for certain products could vary and the competition could increase, often sparking price wars where margins grew thin. Don't get me wrong, the potential rewards were big but so was the risk. When you flip a property there is still significant value in the asset even if things don't go perfectly to plan. Securing a good profit margin on purchase protects again any market downside too. Yes there's risk but nothing compared to the bigger risks I've taken before. #propertyflipping  #propertyinvestmentuk  #propertytipsuk  #ukproperty  #flippingproperty
