We don’t lack discipline, we lack patience

We don’t lack discipline, we lack patience with ourselves.

Never knew how deep Japanese principles were, until recently I learnt how to read them properly.

These 1% better each day efforts can apply to almost anywhere in your life. Be it personal finance, fitness or career etc.

Top 1% one day 🚀

If you have the discipline and patience, but still not getting there, perhaps it can be a lack of strategy or environment that allows you to thrive.

... Read moreIn my experience, embracing patience as a form of self-discipline has been transformative. It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparing ourselves to others—especially in the age of social media where everyone showcases their 'highlight reels.' However, this often leads to frustration and unrealistic expectations. The Kaizen principle, which encourages continuous small improvements, offers a refreshing perspective. Instead of chasing overnight success or competing against others’ timelines, focusing on just 1% progress each day can compound into remarkable outcomes over time. Applying this mindset helped me develop healthier habits in personal finance by consistently saving small amounts, improving my fitness gradually with daily short workouts, and enhancing my skills at work through steady learning instead of rushed achievements. I also realized that a supportive environment and a clear strategy are essential complements to discipline and patience. Without the right conditions, progress can stall despite best intentions. This approach appreciates every small step, no matter how mundane, including the tough days filled with setbacks or losses. It accepts that personal growth is a marathon, not a sprint. By valuing character development and consistency over external validation, we reduce mental fatigue often caused by constant comparison and embrace a sustainable path to success. Ultimately, patience nurtures resilience and helps us become the best version of ourselves, one percent better each day.
