They believe in their distorted form of Christianity which place is whiteness and Americanness and the American empire much above any of the implicit or explicit teachings of Christian
From my observations and reading about Christian Zionism, it's striking how deeply intertwined it is with white supremacy and nationalist ideologies. This group often elevates American empire ideals and racial identity above the core principles of Christianity, such as compassion and justice. The OCR content showing that Christian Zionists condemn the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) for tearing down a crucifix, yet remain silent on the destruction of Palestinian and Lebanese churches, highlights this stark double standard. Many Palestinian and Lebanese Christians suffer displacement and violence, yet their plight is often ignored by these same groups. This selective moral outrage appears to be motivated less by genuine religious conviction and more by loyalty to a political-nationalist agenda that prioritizes whiteness and a certain vision of American exceptionalism. What makes this situation even more troubling is the systemic support and valorization of violence against Palestinians and Lebanese people, while symbolic offenses to white Christian Americans provoke harsh punishments and widespread condemnation. The hypocrisy is clear: the offense against Christian nationalism is punished, but the ongoing oppression and destruction faced by Middle Eastern Christians is condoned or minimized. Reflecting on this, it seems that Christian Zionism operates less as a religious movement and more as a political ideology wrapped in religious language. This challenges us to critically examine how religious identity can be co-opted to justify exclusionary, supremacist, and colonialist policies. Understanding these dynamics is crucial to fostering a more just and genuinely compassionate Christianity—one that stands with all oppressed peoples rather than selective parts of its own demographic.
