What I did today in the garden
As someone who is disabled, having a bit of plant chores this morning was a great thing to wake up to. Decided to leave the cilantro alone. It’s probably too young to transplant still. I don’t want another Chamomile situation to play out. Yes, I failed my chamomile. I thinned some tomatoes, planted mint cuttings and started dill and parsley seeds.
This gardening journey has been eye opening. Digging in the dirt did more than grow herbs, it grounded me. 🌱💚 Spending time with my plants helped me manage anxiety, heal from burnout, and reconnect with the present moment. Whether it’s watering seedlings or watching new leaves unfurl, gardening has become my daily mindfulness ritual. 🍃🪴
If you’re struggling with your mental health, start with one plant. I started with a snake plant. Healing doesn’t have to be loud; sometimes it grows slowly, quietly…like roots in the dark.
