Orchard Road Omakase at just $55+|2 of us had 30 🍢

Honestly didn’t expect to find a $55 per person omakase in Orchard Road 😲

For dinner, 2 of us made a reservation and came to:

🍣 Toya

📍 Orchard Plaza

This place serves yakitori (grilled skewers) + small Japanese dishes,

everything comes out slowly, so you can sit, chat, and eat at a chill pace 😌

🍢 What’s included in the $55+ set?

🍽️ Seasonal Appetiser

This changes from time to time, depending on the season.

Light and refreshing, a nice way to start the meal.

🔥 Chicken Skewers (different parts)

Each skewer is grilled fresh and served hot.

Slightly charred outside, juicy inside.

Japanese-style seasoning — light and clean, not salty.

👉 Some parts are more chewy, some are softer.

🍗 Chicken Thigh Skewer

Very juicy, not dry at all.

This one is Uncle’s favourite 👍

🥩 Chicken Meatball (Tsukune)

Firm texture, not mushy.

Paired with a sweet sauce — really enjoyable.

🍄 Vegetable Skewers (mushrooms / greens)

Served in between the meat skewers.

Great for cutting the richness, very comforting.

🍜 Chicken Broth Cold Noodles

Big plus point for us.

Clear soup but full of chicken flavour.

Smooth noodles — at this point, it really feels like

“okay, my stomach is well taken care of” 😌

🍨 Dessert (Ice Cream)

A happy ending to the meal.

Slightly sweet with a hint of salty taste — interesting and light.

🧠 Uncle’s take:

✅ Good for after-work dinner

✅ Nice for couples or friends who want to chat

✅ Great if you want to try this “one skewer at a time” style

⚠️ Just a heads-up:

You need time to enjoy it — about 2 hours for the full meal ⏳

Typically, restaurants like Toya open for dinner around 5:30-6:00 PM and close by 10:00 PM, but it's always best to call ahead or check their official website or social media for the most up-to-date hours. Toya's concept of serving yakitori and small Japanese dishes in a slow, relaxed manner lets you truly savor each skewer and dish without rushing. This style fits perfectly with Singapore's bustling dining scene where unwinding after work is valued. Arriving a bit early can give you time to settle in and enjoy the atmosphere before the meal starts coming out. During peak hours, especially weekends, making a reservation is highly recommended since Toya offers a unique omakase experience at an unbeatable price. This ensures you won't have to wait and allows you to enjoy a peaceful meal with your companion(s). If you enjoy variety, Toya’s $55+ omakase featuring varied chicken parts, vegetables, and delightful chicken broth noodles offers a nice balance of flavors and textures. It’s not just about the food, but also the dining experience that encourages conversation and a chill vibe. Do check if the menu features seasonal changes to appetizers and other items, which adds an element of surprise and freshness each time you visit. For dessert lovers, the slightly sweet and salty ice cream ending is a subtle but satisfying finish to the meal. Overall, visiting Toya at Orchard Plaza is an excellent choice for those looking for quality Japanese yakitori omakase without breaking the bank, paired with a welcoming and laid-back environment.

📍sushi jin full review here ⬇️💋 this was a great suggestion from the icon who brought me here for a “casual” omakase dinner in Orchard Road. I think the casual aspect was also mainly because it wasn’t like some omakase places where you feel you need to dress up (though it is a nice place) an
