🕶 Master Toilet Glow-Up

If we’re gonna stay here for years, might as well make it comfortable — and nice to look at too!

Presenting our master bedroom toilet!

We went with black frame doors, black bathroom accessories, dark brown floor tiles, and grey wall tiles. My husband wanted a darker, hotel feel vibe for the master toilet, and I was worried it might clash with the rest of our Japandi / Scandi theme. But this home belongs to him too and I should let him have a say in one part of this home which is very important to him- the Toilet!

Thank God, it did not turn out jarring. Every time I walk into the toilet, it feels like I’ve stepped into a totally different zone, a cozy little resort bathroom in Bintan. Again, taking a risk paid off.

Thankful to see how different parts of the home are coming together. Our preferences, the little compromises we make along the way and shared vision slowly turning into reality.

Never imagine renovating our home to be such a huge and meaningful project for me. To plan, research, and endless nitty gritty details to decide, but I must say I truly enjoyed the entire process. I concluded I've got good taste (hahah) and managed to pull off the entire project with the help of my ID and my husband's full support (and trust to let me spend freely).

... Read moreWhen renovating a master toilet, blending comfort with style can truly transform your daily routine. Choosing dark tones like black frames and deep brown floor tiles lends a sophisticated, hotel-like atmosphere that's surprisingly warm and inviting rather than cold or stark. For those considering a similar upgrade, incorporating textured or grey wall tiles adds dimension without overpowering the space. It's crucial to balance personal preferences when sharing a home. In our case, agreeing to a darker, moodier bathroom design brought a refreshing change from our light Japandi/Scandi interiors while still feeling cohesive. It felt like creating a private getaway within our home—a little sanctuary for moments of calm. To enhance practicality alongside aesthetics, selecting durable materials suitable for humid environments is key. Matte finishes can minimize water spots and fingerprints, keeping the space looking fresh longer. Accessories like sleek black towel racks and minimalist fixtures tie the design together and provide functional convenience. For those embarking on their own bathroom reno, I’d recommend thorough research and planning to identify materials and styles that resonate with your lifestyle and taste. Hosting mood boards or visiting showrooms can provide inspiration and clarify your vision. Overall, a master toilet renovation is not just a visual upgrade but a chance to inject personality and comfort into an everyday space, making it truly special for you and your loved ones.
