The pain of the Perfectionists.
Because grown up to understand EP.2
1 of the things Perfectionists don't like best is "mistakes."
Often when making mistakes, many people will say, "Because we are human, mistakes are common."
But for the Perfectionists, that's not it.
Mistakes often turn into a sense of disappointment, heavy in the heart, and sometimes a repeat of a mistake can cause the Self-esteem to diminish to almost nothing.
Because, in the Perfectionists' view, a mistake is not just one incident that has already passed, but it becomes evidence that confirms the idea in the head that
"I'm not good enough."
"I Should Have Done Better"
"Why can this be missed?"
The more determined and dedicated a person is, the more serious the disappointment of mistakes is often.
Because Perfectionists often tie their own values to their works, achievements, and ability to do everything right.
When well done, ten stories "may feel passive."
But when you miss one story, you think about it over and over again and forget what you've accomplished.
The hardest thing for a Perfectionist, therefore, is not to do a good job, but to admit that we still have the right to err, and that mistakes do not diminish our value as human beings.
Because ultimately, the value of a person is not measured by the number of times we never miss, but by the way we can continue to rise, learn and move, even when everything is not as perfect as we hoped.
And sometimes what the heart of the Perfectionists wants is not to hear that mistakes are common.
But it may be learning that self-worth does not diminish every time one makes a mistake, and that making a mistake in some matters does not mean that we fail in all matters of life.
