I left him so I could work on my mental health.
It wasn’t easy, and it definitely wasn’t the “strong girl moment” people make it sound like. I loved him, but I was losing myself trying to hold everything together.
At some point I realized that choosing myself wasn’t selfish — it was survival. I needed space to breathe, think, reset, and heal without constantly feeling like I was disappointing someone.
Walking away didn’t mean I didn’t care. It meant I finally cared about myself enough to stop pouring from an empty cup.
Sometimes the most painful decisions are the ones that save you in the long run. And honestly? My peace has been louder than any heartbreak ever was.
