WHAT SHOULD I DO MAN
THE STUFF ISNT GETTING INTO MY HEAD EITHER BECAUSE I DONT HAVE INTEREST IN MY COURSE ANYMORE
... Read moreAs a fellow polytechnic student who has faced similar challenges, I completely understand the stress and frustration of struggling with a low GPA, especially when your schedule feels overwhelming—like having multiple tests, presentations, and submissions all in the last week.
One thing that helped me was breaking down my study workload into smaller, manageable chunks instead of trying to tackle everything at once. Planning short, focused study sessions for each subject made a huge difference in retaining the material.
Also, I realized that losing interest in a course can make studying feel like a drag. To combat this, I looked for ways to connect the course content with real-life applications or my personal interests. For example, relating cybersecurity topics to current news helped make the subject more engaging.
Don’t hesitate to reach out for support from your lecturers, tutors, or classmates. Sometimes group study sessions or discussing difficult topics with peers can clarify concepts better than solo studying.
Regarding GPA improvement, focus on subjects where you can still gain marks by reviewing past papers, attending revision classes, or improving your assignment techniques. For those courses where the interim grades are not encouraging, putting in consistent effort even for small improvements can help boost your overall GPA.
Lastly, managing stress is critical. Incorporate short breaks, physical exercise, or relaxation techniques like deep breathing into your daily routine to maintain mental well-being.
Remember, a tough start in Year 1 is not the end of the road. Many have turned their academic journey around by adapting their study strategies and seeking help early. You’re not alone in this, and with perseverance and the right tactics, you can improve your GPA and rediscover motivation in your poly life.
Try to switch to another course that you're good at! I'm currently job hunting and no matter what others might say gpa is actually really important and will influence the rest of ur life. Jiayous u can still pull it up to at least 3+
Just lock in and treat all mods very seriously for the rest of your poly life, just need to keep pushing each sem and climb. My Y1S1 was 1.9, wanted to drop out but I just picked myself up and lock in every sem.
Now my Y3S1 gpa just hit 3.1, i increased by about 0.3 every sem since then. I believe u can do it too!
