How I’m learning to love myself🫶

It’s a long process learning to love yourself like you love others! I’ve struggled with it over the years - especially as a teenager. As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned a few lessons - here are a few of my tips🖤

... Read moreLearning to love myself has truly been a journey, not a destination. It's something I actively work on every day, and I've found that the biggest shifts come from small, consistent actions. If you're also on this path, here are some deeper dives into the things that have made a real difference for me. First, taking care of my body transformed my relationship with myself. It's not about strict diets or punishing workouts; it's about nurturing. For me, that means prioritizing healthy, wholesome foods that make me feel good, not just look a certain way. Instead of focusing on what I 'shouldn't' eat, I focus on adding nutrient-dense foods. And movement? It's about finding joy! Whether it's a brisk walk in nature, a dance party in my living room, or gentle stretching, I listen to what my body craves. This shift from 'fixing' my body to honoring it has profoundly improved my body image and overall confidence. Then there's the power of wearing clothes that are flattering to my body type. This might sound superficial, but it's incredibly impactful. For years, I squeezed into clothes that didn't fit, or wore things that simply didn't suit my shape, and it chipped away at my self-esteem. I learned to understand my body's unique proportions and choose pieces that highlight my features and make me feel comfortable and confident. It’s not about following trends, but about finding what makes you feel good. Seriously, try going through your wardrobe and getting rid of anything that makes you feel less than amazing. You'll be surprised at the instant lift! Another huge game-changer has been spending more time on me. In our busy lives, self-care often feels like a luxury, but it's a necessity. Beyond my monthly manicures and quarterly hair appointments, which I truly cherish as gifts to myself, I've integrated smaller rituals. This could be a quiet cup of tea in the morning, ten minutes of reading a good book, or even just taking a mindful pause during a hectic day. These moments aren't selfish; they're essential for recharging my mental and emotional batteries, allowing me to show up better for myself and others. Finally, letting go of jealous tendencies has been a monumental step. It's a tough realization, but comparison truly is the thief of joy. I used to scroll through social media, constantly measuring myself against others, which only fueled feelings of inadequacy. What I've learned is that everyone is on their own unique path, and what you see online is often just a highlight reel. I started actively unfollowing accounts that triggered negative feelings and began practicing daily gratitude for my own blessings and progress. This shift in perspective has allowed me to celebrate my own journey and genuinely appreciate others without feeling diminished. It's a continuous practice, but the peace it brings is invaluable. Remember, your journey to self-love is unique and beautiful – embrace every step!

I used to overthink everything—what people thought of me, if I said the right thing, if I was making the right choices. It had me stuck, second-guessing myself instead of just living. But I realized overthinking wasn’t helping me—it was just draining my energy and holding me back. Here’s what’s hel
