Travel to Paris without leaving NYC!

Can’t getaway to a far flung trip to Paris? Don’t worry, you can experience Paris (or close to it) here in New York

without needing a passport!

These are my favorite places to feel like I’m in Paris while at home!

Bemelmans Bar

One of my favorite Old New York spots on the Upper East Side inside the swanky Carlyle Hotel is Bemelmans Bar. Artist Ludwig Bemelmans original paintings cover the walls, including his famous Madeline characters from the children’s books set in Paris! The space is so beautiful and the Madeline connection do make me feel like I’m in France!

Albertine

Located in the French Embassy building, this is one of the most magical bookshops in New York City and it carries the largest selection of French books in the city!

Little Paris sign

Did you know NYC has a Little Paris? Located in Soho and NoLita on Centre Street (between Broome and Grand Streets) this little corner of the city has been nicknamed Little Paris and has a high concentration of French shops and cafes!!

Thierry Atlan Soho

Located in Soho, this is my favorite spot for macarons by a French father and daughter duo!

Felix Roasting Co.

I love this cafe so much! Each location is beautiful, the location in SoHo definitely has Paris vibes with its interior decor!

Maison Close Restaurant

This French restaurant is GORGEOUS! Not only can you have fine French dining, but the interior also feels like you’re in Paris!

For those enchanted by French culture, visiting places like Bemelmans Bar on the Upper East Side is a must. The bar is adorned with original Ludwig Bemelmans paintings, including the beloved Madeline characters, immersing you in Parisian nostalgia. Albertine bookshop, located inside the French Embassy, is a literary haven with the largest French book selection in NYC, perfect for travelers and Francophiles longing to browse French literature and art books. Meanwhile, the Little Paris area nestled between Soho and NoLita on Centre Street hosts charming French cafes and boutiques, adding to the feeling of a Parisian neighborhood. A highlight for sweet tooths is Thierry Atlan in Soho, run by a French father-daughter duo, famed for authentic macarons and exquisite pastries that capture the essence of Parisian patisserie craftsmanship. If cozying up with a cup of coffee or iced tea is more your style, Felix Roasting Co. in SoHo replicates Paris vibes through elegant interior design and carefully brewed coffees. For a full French dining experience, Maison Close Restaurant impresses with gorgeous ambiance and haute cuisine, creating a perfect Paris-inspired night out. Whether it's through art, cuisine, literature, or neighborhood charm, NYC offers diverse ways to experience Paris without needing a passport. These venues not only evoke the allure of Paris but also celebrate French culture’s presence within the vibrant tapestry of New York City.
