「1ページ分縮小」は本当に便利なんですが、私は“うまく収まらないときの逃げ道”も一緒に覚えておくと安心だなと思っています。ここでは、よく検索されている「ページ数」「空白ページ削除」「ページ設定」「余白」「ページ番号」「フッター」あたりも、つまずきやすい順にまとめます。 ■1ページに収めたいのに、なぜか2ページになるとき まずは［ホーム］→［編集記号（¶）の表示］をオンにします。見えない改行や空行が原因のことが多いです。段落記号（¶）が何行も入っていたり、最後に不要な改ページが入っていると、1行だけ次ページに押し出されます。 ■Wordの「空白のページ」を削除するコツ 空白ページが消えないときは、たいてい「改ページ」か「セクション区切り」が入っています。編集記号を表示して、空白ページ直前に ・―――― 改ページ ―――― ・―――― セクション区切り（次のページ）―――― があれば削除します。 ※セクション区切りを消すと、前後のヘッダー/フッターやページ番号の設定が変わることがあるので、消す前に一度保存しておくのがおすすめです。 ■「ページ設定」の基本（印刷範囲を広げたい／余白をなくしたい） ［レイアウト］→［余白］で「狭い」にするだけでも1ページに収まることがあります。プリンタによっては「余白なし印刷」自体ができない機種もあるので、限界まで詰めたいときはプリンタ設定も確認します。 また、［レイアウト］→［サイズ］（A4など）と［印刷の向き］（縦/横）が合っていないと、意図せずページ数が増えるので要チェックです。 ■ページ番号：表紙だけ番号なしにしたい（表紙以外） ［挿入］→［ページ番号］で入れたあと、［ヘッダーとフッター］の「先頭ページのみ別指定」にチェックすると、表紙だけ非表示にできます。さらに「2ページ目を1にしたい」場合は、2ページ目のフッターで［ページ番号］→［ページ番号の書式設定］→「開始番号：1」にします（セクション区切りが必要なことがあります）。 ■フッターが原因で2ページ目に行くことも フッターに入れた空行や大きい余白で、本文が押し上げられることがあります。フッター内の段落の「間隔（前/後）」が大きくなっていないか、行間が「1.5行」になっていないかを確認すると解決しやすいです。 ■「2行目の字下げができない」小ワザ 段落の設定で「最初の行」を字下げにするより、ルーラー（上の目盛り）でインデントを調整した方が早いことが多いです。ぶら下げインデント（2行目以降が下がる）になっていると、思った通りに字下げできないので、ルーラーの三角マーカーを一度リセットしてから設定するとスムーズでした。 最後に：急ぎのときは「1ページ分縮小」→ダメなら編集記号で原因確認、の順にすると時間を取られにくいです。私も締切前の“あと1行問題”は、この流れで乗り切っています。
