I spent $10k on pc but game on a handheld 😢

After building a high-end gaming PC that cost around $10,000, many might expect me to spend all my gaming hours on it. But surprisingly, I often find myself gaming on a handheld console instead, which costs significantly less—around $1,800. This choice might seem odd at first, but it really boils down to comfort and lifestyle. Working long hours at a desk staring at a large screen can cause fatigue and make it hard to settle in for extended gaming sessions afterward. Even with a super comfortable chair and top-tier peripherals, I just can’t sit at a gaming desk for hours like I used to. The handheld offers incredible versatility; I can relax anywhere—on the couch, in bed, or even on the go without being tethered to my desk setup. Moreover, using the handheld console as a secondary gaming device is ideal for winding down after work. Since I am glued to a large PC monitor all day, switching to a smaller screen feels less tiring on my eyes. Also, streaming PC games to the handheld adds flexibility so I can continue playing my favorite titles without being fixed to my desk. This experience highlights an important insight: high investment in gaming hardware doesn’t always correlate with where or how you prefer to play. Sometimes portability, comfort, and lifestyle fit better with a handheld, despite the allure of a powerful gaming PC. Ultimately, the best gaming setup is the one that aligns with your daily habits and lets you truly enjoy gaming without added strain.
