OC Introduction

It's essentially a character you create yourself that exists within an established fictional universe (like Star Wars, in my case!) or even an entirely new world of your own making. It’s not a character from the official story, but one you've brought to life with your own imagination. For me, creating an OC is about exploring new narratives and adding my personal touch to a universe I adore. It's a fantastic way to engage deeper with a story and connect with other fans. So, why do people create OCs? For so many reasons! Some of us love to imagine ourselves or unique individuals living in our favorite fictional worlds. We might want to fill in gaps in the story, explore "what if" scenarios, or simply tell new tales from a different perspective. It's a huge part of fanfiction, roleplaying, and even fan art or cosplay communities. Creating an OC lets you become a storyteller in your own right, giving you a creative outlet to express your passion and vision.
