... Read moreIf you're planning a visit to Sokcho Central Market, especially the popular street food stalls, it helps to know a bit more about the local favorites and what to expect. One of the crowd-pleasers is the makgeolli bread, inspired by traditional ji dan gao but softer, fluffier, and served in large portions. It’s usually well worth the wait in a sometimes long but quickly moving queue. For those who love seafood, the squid pancakes are an interesting choice. Though not everyone may enjoy squid, the ones at Sokcho come paired with a flavorful sauce that complements this distinctive dish well. If you’re a fan of hearty, filling options, potato pancakes (감자전) are widely available, but be ready—they can be dense and sometimes oily. Don’t miss the unique kreimik honeycomb ice cream, although it leans on the sweet side and is a bit pricier compared to other snacks, it provides a refreshing treat on a warm day. Additionally, the market is known for other specialties like dakgangjeong (sweet crispy chicken) that many travelers rave about. When visiting at night, the market's lively atmosphere adds to the experience, with plenty of stalls offering both traditional and creative Korean street food. Be sure to explore various vendors and try small portions from several stalls to get a full taste of Sokcho’s diverse offerings. From my experience, pacing yourself here is key—many foods are rich and filling, so sharing dishes or ordering strategically will let you experience more flavors without feeling overwhelmed. Also, keep an eye out for signs of freshness and cleanliness, which are important when enjoying street food safely. Overall, Sokcho Central Market is a fantastic food destination for those eager to dive into Korean street eats, combining traditional tastes with unique twists that make each bite memorable.

OMG this cafe?!
Hellooo i really want to share this one cafe out of all the other cafes i went in korea 🙏🏻😌 The whole building was the ART ITSELF! Literally feels like a dream cafe that i would love to open. When we first entered the cafe, you got to order first before they allocate a table or private room for you.
