Elijah stood nearly alone against false prophets. Jesus Himself warned that many travel the broad road while only a small number choose the narrow path.
Modern culture teaches people to accept whatever is popular, comfortable, and widely approved. Yet God never measures righteousness by crowds. Throughout Scripture, history demonstrates that righteous individuals or groups often stand alone or in small numbers. From Noah’s ark to Elijah’s confrontation with false prophets, those who faithfully obey God frequently face opposition or isolation. This reality is echoed in modern life as well, where standing for biblical truth can mean going against widely accepted norms. One major challenge today is the prevalence of false teachings that sound appealing but lack the depth of true doctrine. Many seek messages that comfort or confirm their desires rather than convict and transform. I’ve found it essential to continuously compare what I hear and believe against the Word of God, ensuring that my convictions are rooted in Scripture rather than cultural trends. Choosing the narrow path involves surrender—giving up our own preferences and comforts to follow God’s will. It requires repentance, a genuine change of mind and heart, and ongoing perseverance despite hardships. While few may choose this way, those who do find lasting peace and hope.
