Comfort Is The Delay
Comfort isn’t peace.
It’s often just the pause button on responsibility.
We call it “staying out of it.”

But most of the time,
it’s choosing numbness
over presence.
The real work isn’t loud.
It doesn’t flex.
It doesn’t dominate.
It looks like staying present
when distraction would be easier.
Speaking truth
when silence would feel safer.
Standing together
instead of competing for status.
Avoidance doesn’t erase consequence.
It just delays
who has to carry it.
And delayed responsibility
always lands
on the next generation.
Comfort is the delay.
Presence is the repair.
