Samut Sakhon, who had recently been caught in a crane fall, said: "Workers and nearby residents were alarmed when another fire broke out on the morning of January 20, 2026 at a construction site on Giant 2.
Reporters who were at the scene said the fire had started from two close-knit areas around the site and saw a huge plume of black smoke rising into the sky. Fire crews and rescue teams rushed to extinguish the fire and the area was closed for safety.
Initial investigations showed that the fire appeared to have started as hydraulic oil leaked from where the above equipment fell and impacted the hydraulic system below. Those oils were the surrounding steel pounds, from which the metal tools came into contact with the heat, and there were burners and burners.
No injuries or deaths were reported.
Authorities said they were conducting investigations into the building's fitness status to prevent further accidents from happening and an investigation to establish the exact cause of the fire.
