In Thailand, prefecture chairman was caught with 400,000 methamphetamines

Thailand's military and police, jointly arrested samutha sanba, 49, president of thauthan prefecture, who was importing stimulants across the lao side of the mekong, along with 400,000 methamphetamine pills, district governor khan piakuru said in a briefing to the media on july 29.
Siewat was previously elected chairman of thautan prefecture, the third largest in the administrative territorial level in thailand, from the village of hassaifi.
Officials said Siewat was under surveillance as he was suspected of being the main participant in the drug network, which imports several drugs from Laos and distributes them as far as the inside of Thailand.
Seen from watching one of his disciples carry and hide 2 bags containing 4 lakh stimulants from the Mekong River, the arrest inspection shielded the chairman's position, which appeared to be an abusive drug smuggler to gain public trust.
Siewat's wife is also reported to have been in prison several years ago for drunkenness
