I think we’re all aware of the school year starting back up. Which means I finally got my schedule for both school/ballet and when I tell you it’s brutal! 😭
Pretty much all honors classes in school, plus human body systems (a science course) and psychology (a history course). So that leaves me with only one like real elective. I don’t mind the intense academic schedule. I’ve always had more advanced classes and I’m used to the fast paced, tons of homework, tests almost every day. It’s whatever and the school of dance I attend is usually pretty flexible in terms of how many classes I take per week. To the point where I can usually have 2 to 3 days off during the weekday that I usually use to do school extracurriculars, go to a game, or something. Well I guess not this year because they just put a new policy in place that would have me taking 12 hours of dance classes. That doesn’t even include nutcracker rehearsals (iykyk)
I swear I’m looking at my schedule and it looks exhausting. On the weekdays (Mon-Thurs) I have school from 7am-3:30pm and dance at 4pm-9pm (including rehearsals). Friday and Saturday being 10am-9pm with odd breaks in between. Yes I have a 3 day weekend. I don’t know, maybe I’m whining for no reason and it’s not even that bad but I swear it takes me like 3 1/2 hours to get my homework and studying done and that’s looking a little nonexistent right now. Anyone who has advice for a busy schedule? It would be GREATLY appreciated 🩷🩷

Finding the right balance is key to thriving during a busy season.
