NYC x Japanfest 🇯🇵

#lemon8diarychallenge #Lemon8Diary #Lemon8 #lemon8challenge #nyc #streetfood #Japan #bobatea #wagyu

📍 NYC - 7th Ave & W 53rd St

✨ Pros:

🇯🇵 Fun giveaways: They played amazing music while making it fun for everyone through giveaways. Panda balloons, fans, plushies, and other items were up for grabs.

🇯🇵 New Cuisines: I am a picky eater so I was happy that there was a variety of food. Ramen, chicken, tacos, shish kabobs, fries, etc. were just a few options but this weekend the Wagyu beef was the main event.

🇯🇵 Loads of Boba: I can’t tell you how many Boba tea stands were at this event but there was plenty and one had a huge giveaway. Passionfruit & lime green tea boba was great!

🇯🇵 Multiple Event Weekends: Every weekend until November has a different theme/focus and location so it makes it that much more fun!

👀 Cons:

🇯🇵 A lot of people: The ones in July this year.. holy smokes! So many people have attended each weekend and it can be quite suffocating in a heat wave!

🇯🇵 One of the largest fests in NYC: Meaning you have to wear comfy shoes to walk multiple NYC blocks and be comfortable standing for a long period of time.

🇯🇵 Not all streets are blocked off: Every couple of blocks, traffic is open to let cars cross between avenues. Kind of annoying but not that big of deal.

🇯🇵 No clear lines for food/drinks: This is a given considering the number of people attending but just be ready to stand for awhile.

📝Tips:

-Wear comfortable shoes

-Don’t skip breakfast!

-Stay hydrated

-Bring a portable fan or sun hat

-Look at the vendors list ahead of time

-Bring cash just in case systems crash at the stands

... Read moreNYC x Japanfest is a culinary delight celebrated in the heart of New York City, showcasing a variety of delicious foods and vibrant cultural elements. This festival brings together iconic Japanese dishes and trendy street foods, making it a must-visit for both foodies and cultural enthusiasts. Expect to savor mouth-watering options like ramen, boba tea, and the star of the event, Wagyu beef. With an array of vendors accumulating at 7th Ave & W 53rd St, attendees can explore not just food but also engaging music and fun activities. One of the festival's highlights is the lively atmosphere filled with colorful giveaways, from panda balloons to plushies, encouraging attendees to fully immerse themselves in the festive spirit. Despite its popularity and the crowds it attracts, plan your visit wisely. Consider visiting early to avoid the peak crowds which can become overwhelming, especially during the summer months. Wear comfortable footwear as you might find yourself walking several blocks to try out various stands. Staying hydrated is crucial, so be sure to grab some refreshing boba or tea as you enjoy the culinary landscape. Moreover, each weekend of the festival focuses on different themes, so repeat visits can provide fresh experiences and new dishes to try. Don’t forget to check out the vendor list in advance—knowledge of what's available can greatly enhance your visit. With fun activities and delicious food awaiting, this festival stands out as a vibrant celebration of Japanese culture right in NYC!
