Let's talk about the night skincare routine after shower – this is where the magic really happens for me! After stepping out of a warm shower, your skin is perfectly prepped to absorb all the goodness. I always pat my skin almost dry, leaving it slightly damp. This is the prime time for my soothing and barrier support serum. Applying it to slightly damp skin helps it penetrate better and lock in that extra hydration. Then, I follow with my pore-tightening toner if it’s a night for exfoliation, or my hydrating rice toner if my skin feels a bit drier. The key here is layering light to heavy. Don't rush! Give each product a minute to sink in. Finally, I seal everything with a rich night cream to really benefit from the active ingredients while I sleep. This post-shower routine ensures my skin wakes up plump and radiant. Now, what about skincare routine before shower? For me, it's usually about cleansing off the day's grime or makeup. If I'm wearing makeup, I always start with my pink cleansing balm before getting into the shower. This melts away sunscreen and makeup without stripping my skin. Then, in the shower, I use my hydrating cream-to-foam cleanser or the sensitive skin soap bar. This pre-shower step is a game-changer for preventing breakouts and ensuring a super clean canvas. A special shout-out to hydrating toners in a night routine! Many people skip toner, but it's such a vital step. My rice toner, for example, isn't just about balancing pH; it adds an extra layer of moisture, making my skin feel incredibly soft and ready for serums. I gently press it into my skin with my hands, rather than wiping with a cotton pad, to really maximize absorption.
