Homemade Marshmallows
These were stupid easy and cheap to make and so so good. Here’s how I did it:
Ingredients:
1 envelope Gelatin
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
3 tbsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
Directions:
1. In a 1/2 cup of water, add a packet of gelatin and stir. Allow the timer to bloom for 10 minutes.
2. While this mixture is blooming, add 1/2 cup of water and 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar into a pan. Mix and heat to 230 degrees.
3. Once heated, pour the syrup mixture into a mixing bowl. Add the bloom gelatin mixture.
4. Mix on low for 4 minutes.
5. Add 3 tbsp vanilla and 1 tsp salt.
6. Mix on high for 4 minutes. Your completed mixture should be frothy and hold peaks.
7. In a pan, add butter and powdered sugar to keep the mixture from sticking to the bottom.
8. Pour your mixture into the pan and place in the refrigerator until set.
9. Add a powdered sugar coating and serve.
