How I healed my hair

Very vulnerable post, but my hair used to be atrocious. I fell for the home box dye blonde. I thought it looked stunning. And then.. 3 months before my wedding it hit me. I had to do something. Make it grow, make it healthy, make it pretty. I had a short timeframe and a budget to make something happen. So I got to researching.

How do I make my hair grow fast? How to get rid of split ends? How to fix damaged hair?

Most options you see out there are ads, and don’t work like people say they do. This routine honestly repaired my hair. And yes, I watched Abby Yung’s videos. I tried things she said were good. After trying things she recommended, I finally learned my hair type and started using products tailored to my needs and found a routine that repairs, strengthens, and moisturizes my hair and actually works for me.

Hair Type: Medium

Porosity: High

Shampoo: Pantene Volume

Conditioner: Pantene Volume

Leave In: Pantene 10 in 1 (will have to make a separate post on this one it’s the best multipurpose spray!!)

Oil: Ogx Moroccan Oil

And finally.. biotin & protein! I made sure to eat half my body weight in protein everyday and take biotin. These two dietary changes in addition to this routine completely transformed my hair and brought my glow and shine back.

No matter how much you spend, it all boils down to what works for you. My entire hair routine costs less than a salon grade shampoo, with better results. Do your research, learn what your hair needs, and don’t overthink it!!

... Read moreWhen I first started my hair healing journey, I realized that many quick-fix products and popular advice didn't really deliver on their promises. What made a real difference was understanding that hair repair takes patience and the right routine suited to your hair type. With my medium hair and high porosity, I found that using Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner helped gently cleanse and hydrate without weighing my hair down. One of the surprising game changers was incorporating a leave-in multitasking spray, specifically the Pantene 10 in 1 Miracle Rescue spray with keratin. It added much-needed strength and protection against daily styling. Pairing this with OGX Moroccan Argan Oil helped me lock in moisture while restoring softness and shine. Besides external care, I truly believe diet plays a vital role in hair health. I began taking Nature's Bounty Biotin 10,000 mcg supplements and ensured my protein intake was about half my body weight daily, which fueled new hair growth and improved texture tremendously. Consistency was key. I followed this routine diligently, understanding that hair healing doesn’t happen overnight. I often reminded myself that even salon treatments can’t fix every issue instantly; embracing the journey is essential. If you’re dealing with damage from home dyes or breakage, start by identifying your hair type and porosity. Then, choose affordable but effective products that meet those specific needs. Avoid overloading your hair with too many treatments, as simplicity can yield better results. Lastly, don’t get discouraged by ads or social media hype—real healing is about a balanced routine, healthy diet, and patience. This approach helped me regain my hair’s glow and confidence before my wedding day, proving you don’t have to spend a fortune to see amazing results. Be patient, stay consistent, and tailor your routine to your unique hair needs to truly repair and revitalize your hair.
