I’ve been through moments where I felt overwhelmed by the things or habits that once gave me joy but also added stress or negativity to my life. It’s important to recognize that our sources of happiness change over time, and what once felt good might no longer serve our mental or emotional well-being. In my own experience, deciding to 'get rid of everything that gives some sort of happiness' wasn’t about losing joy but about creating space for new experiences and growth. This process can sometimes feel like letting go of a part of yourself, but it can also open doors to unexpected peace and insights. Reflecting on what truly contributes to our well-being helps us rebuild a more balanced and authentic happiness. If you’re feeling stuck or unsure about letting go of certain attachments, try to journal your feelings or talk with someone you trust. It helped me to see patterns and understand that sometimes what seems like loss is actually a step toward self-discovery. Remember that happiness is not a constant state but a journey with ups and downs, and making space for change is a courageous and valuable act.
