I thought I’d quickly introduce myself. I was born in Cuba, grew up in Canada. I love trying new recipes, gardening, composting and browsing marketplace 🤣
I am currently renovating my 1980’s home. I am a corporate girlie full time but also have a small eco-friendly business.
My grandma taught me to reuse and repair what I have.
I started my zero waste brand while i was in college. I make concentrated tablets for cleaning products that come in fully recyclable and compostable packaging made with only Canadian ingredients that are better for you and the planet ❤️
Living sustainably is truly a lifestyle that grows deeper with daily practice and personal commitment. From my experience, starting small changes in your home — like using cleaning products that are zero waste and come in recyclable packaging — can significantly reduce your environmental footprint. Creating concentrated cleaning tablets not only minimizes plastic waste but also promotes using ingredients that are safe for both people and the planet. Gardening is another huge part of my eco-friendly journey. Growing your own plants or vegetables not only connects you to nature but also contributes to reducing food miles and waste. Composting kitchen scraps and garden waste speeds up the natural cycle and enriches soil rather than sending organics to landfill. It’s a rewarding way to reduce overall waste and create healthier gardens. Renovating an older home with sustainability in mind has its challenges but is very fulfilling. Using reclaimed materials, repairing rather than replacing items, and considering energy-efficient upgrades all help maintain the home’s character and reduce environmental impact. These small intentional steps align perfectly with the lessons on reusing and repairing passed down from my grandma. Furthermore, developing a small eco-friendly business alongside a full-time corporate job shows that living sustainably can fit into any lifestyle. It’s about making mindful choices, prioritizing quality over quantity, and supporting local and ethical production, which I did by sourcing only Canadian ingredients for my products. Overall, embracing zero waste, composting, gardening, and sustainable business practices form a holistic approach to eco-living — something anyone can start with just a little curiosity and commitment.
