Author and Artist

... Read moreAs an author and artist navigating the creative landscape, life is a beautiful blend of words, visuals, and endless inspiration. It’s a journey often fueled by a good cup of coffee and a deep dive into the fascinating world around us. For me, being an author isn't just about putting words on a page; it’s about weaving stories that resonate, exploring characters, and building worlds. Similarly, being an artist is about translating emotions and ideas into visual expressions, whether through paint, digital art, or sketches. My daily routine often starts with that essential morning coffee, which isn't just a caffeine kick but a ritual – a quiet moment to let ideas simmer before the day truly begins. This is where a lot of my art inspiration sparks. It’s amazing how a simple moment of calm can open up new pathways for creativity. Beyond that, my passions for reading books and being a history buff are constant wellsprings. Diving into historical accounts or getting lost in a compelling novel provides a rich tapestry of human experience, cultural insights, and narrative structures that feed both my writing and my art. I see it as a form of 'sleuthing' – uncovering forgotten details or new perspectives that can ignite a fresh project. Balancing both disciplines can be challenging, but also incredibly rewarding. Sometimes a visual idea will spark a story, or a character I'm writing about will demand to be drawn. This synergy is what makes the author-artist life so vibrant. Sharing this journey on platforms like Lemon8 feels like an extension of my creative process – a personal blog where I can connect with others who appreciate the blend of storytelling and visual art. It’s a space to showcase progress, share behind-the-scenes glimpses, and even discuss the struggles and triumphs of a creative life. Crucially, self care & wellness are not just buzzwords for creatives; they're essential for sustainability. My creative output thrives when I’m taking care of myself. This means prioritizing mental breaks, enjoying hobbies outside of my main creative pursuits, and ensuring I get enough rest. It's about remembering that the well of inspiration needs to be refilled regularly. Whether it’s a quiet afternoon spent reading, a walk in nature, or simply allowing myself to daydream, these moments are vital for nurturing the soul and keeping the creative spark alive. It truly helps to keep the '2fishes.studio' energy flowing! I hope that by sharing my experiences as an author and artist, along with the strategies I use for art inspiration and self-care, I can encourage others to embrace their own creative paths. Everyone has a unique story to tell and an artistic voice waiting to be discovered. What are your creative rituals?

How to become an Author
Here are my tips and tricks for you guys: 1. Just start writing. Don’t focus on writing a full on book the first time you sit down. I started by writing about my own life. I took memories or things I imagined and wrote them down. From that the ideas started flooding in. 2. When you have a
