Review of "Web of Vows and Vengeance"
Wow, just wow! This book is amazing! 5 stars. Thank you so much to The Nerd Fam and Author Aria Ashbrook for the advance reader copy. The author did a great job of making me feel so many emotions because I was attached and invested in the characters. The premise sounds similar to other Romantasy books, but it is incredibly unique! The audiobook is excellent too!
It has:
🔥Enemies to Lovers
🔥Deadly Tournament
🔥Slow-Burn Romance
🔥Underdog Heroine
🔥Brooding Royal MMC
🔥Forced Proximity
🔥Gods and Goddesses
Quick blurb:
Stripped of power. Fuelled by vengeance.
She lost everything because of his lie. Now the only way to save her sister is to win a deadly competition that could cost her the only thing she has left: her life.
When Prince Kyor twisted the truth about his mother’s death, Rose paid the price. Her family was stripped of their magic, cast into the slums, and abandoned by the kingdom they once served. Now her parents are gone, and her younger sister’s future hangs in the balance.
Rose’s only hope is the Tournament of the Gifting, a brutal competition held once a century, where the victor earns a blessing from the Goddess of Life. The catch? Every other contender wields the very power she was robbed of.

Okay, so I already gushed about 'Web of Vows and Vengeance' in my initial review, but honestly, I can't stop thinking about this book! It truly is Book One of what promises to be an incredible series by Aria Ashbrook. There's just so much depth to unpack, especially if you're like me and you love getting completely lost in a new fantasy world that inspires you to picture every scene. What really grabbed me, beyond the obvious enemies-to-lovers trope, was Rose's journey. Her family was *stripped of power*, and her entire life was turned upside down because of a lie. Can you imagine that kind of injustice? It makes her quest for vengeance incredibly compelling. She's not just some chosen one with innate abilities; she's an underdog, and you feel every single struggle she faces in the deadly Tournament of the Gifting. This isn't just about winning; it's about survival, about saving her sister, and reclaiming what was unjustly taken. Her determination, *fuelled by vengeance*, is truly inspiring, and it’s what makes you root for her so fiercely. You just want to see her succeed against all odds! And the world-building? Absolutely fantastic! While the original text briefly mentioned 'Gods and Goddesses,' it's the intricate details that make it shine. I found myself imagining the harsh landscapes and the seemingly impossible challenges of 'The Hirathean Path' that contestants must navigate. The magic system feels unique and dangerous, and the stakes of the tournament are so incredibly high. It's the kind of setting that immediately sparks your imagination – I can totally see why this book would inspire amazing fanart! The vivid imagery of Rose, perhaps her eyes burning with resolve, facing off against formidable opponents or having tense, charged moments with the brooding Prince Kyor, is just begging to be brought to life through illustrations. Every page paints a picture. Speaking of Prince Kyor, the dynamic between him and Rose is everything you want in a slow-burn, forced proximity romance. You know they're supposed to be enemies, but you can feel that undeniable tension building, slowly, deliciously. He’s not just a generic royal; he has his own complexities and secrets that make you question everything, adding so many layers to their interactions. It’s this kind of nuanced character development and intricate plotting that makes the 'web' of their relationship and the larger story so captivating. You're constantly trying to guess their next move! For me, the book really hit home on themes of resilience, unwavering family loyalty, and fighting against insurmountable odds. It’s more than just a romance; it’s a powerful story about finding your inner strength and demanding justice when everything's stacked against you. If you’re looking for a book that will make you feel a whole range of emotions, from frustration and anger to hope and thrill, then you absolutely need to pick up 'Web of Vows and Vengeance.' I'm already counting down the days until the next installment because I need to know what happens next! What were your favorite moments or what caught your eye the most? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
