Cliffs House ⛰️: Combining Design Work with Nature with Empty Space and Court in the Middle of the House

The design of this house that embroidered Thongchai began as an idea that required the residents inside the house to truly experience being in the midst of nature, in which the surrounding context was a wide open meadow overlooking the surrounding mountains that embroidered Thongchai.

So we focused on placing a plan that draws the freshness of nature into the building by making openings that create a view that can see nature around the house and open up the empty space inside the house to make the house look uncomfortable and have a relaxed corner that is a court seat, a small garden inserted into the house.

Start by leaving an empty space between the parking lot and the house to form a patchy garden, a waterfall pond, to reduce the awkwardness of the front of the house, and benefit from trees that shade the walkway before entering the house, drawing more natural light and wind into the house, which will also create awareness of coming to a relaxed home in the middle of nature from the first step into the residential area.

In the house, we have a design that separates the form of the building into two blocks, left and right, and the mass in the middle of the building, left and right.

So we made a small terrace or courtyard that planted trees in the middle of the house up to the second floor, which would make the house look uncomfortable, with natural light and wind flowing through it, and every room looked at the garden and saw the surrounding meadows.

On the ground floor, we have a balcony or porch area, both front and back entrances, so that the ground floor rest zone of the house is a living room, dining, and reading room, can sit out, rest, rest, take a breath of air and see him on the outside porch. Also, the second floor bedroom, there is a private balcony that can sit out or be a night stargazing area.

In the layout, the function focuses the day rest section on the east to evade the hot sun in the afternoon, and designs the wind openings to catch the wind well from the front and back side as well.

All of this is a design that is not just architectural, but also a way of life and aesthetics to live in, according to the problem of wanting this cliff house to be an area where residents can experience nature deeply and have a good quality of life at any time of living in this house.
