How to fold when it’s hot
Dealing with hot weather can be quite challenging, especially when it comes to managing daily tasks like folding clothes or organizing your space. From personal experience, I’ve found that opting for lightweight, breathable fabrics like cotton or linen not only helps reduce discomfort but also makes folding easier because the material is less stiff. I usually fold clothes in thin layers rather than thick stacks to allow air circulation and avoid trapping heat. Another helpful trick is to fold clothes in a shaded, cooler area of your home or even outdoors if there’s a breeze. This avoids adding extra warmth to already hot rooms. I also keep a spray bottle nearby with water infused with essential oils like peppermint or eucalyptus — a quick mist on the clothes or around your folding zone helps refresh the environment and cool you down. When temperatures soar, it’s also important to stay hydrated and take short breaks to cool off. I’ve started using folding as a mindful practice, focusing on slow, deliberate movements to avoid overheating myself. This not only makes the task less tiring but also improves efficiency. Lastly, if folding in hot conditions is unavoidable, try to schedule the task either early in the morning or later in the evening when the temperatures dip. Incorporating these small but effective habits can make a big difference in staying comfortable and productive during hot days.
