Malaysia slowly became our second home 🤍

We bring the kids along for work trips

not just to travel…

but for them to see the work behind the scenes too.

And we’re really grateful for friends

who help with the extra hands along the way.

Maybe children don’t only grow from comfort…

but also from the little experiences they go through with us along the way 🥰 @relianceswimmingacademy

... Read moreTaking our kids along on work trips has been more than just travel; it's been a unique learning journey for them. From witnessing meetings and long workdays to meeting new people, these trips immerse them in real-world experiences beyond typical vacations. This exposure helps children understand the value of hard work and teamwork, while also teaching them how to adapt to different environments. One of the biggest benefits I've noticed is how travel fosters social confidence. Being around different cultures and people encourages children to become more comfortable and outgoing. For example, staying late at Airbnbs or leaning on friends for extra hands during busy schedules shows kids the importance of community and support in everyday challenges. Of course, managing three kids on work trips comes with its share of fatigue, but the trade-off is rewarding. The little moments—be it hand-holding during stressful times or sharing the small joys of a swimming pool break—shape their character in ways that go unnoticed day-to-day. These experiences contribute to their personal growth, teaching resilience and flexibility. Overall, combining work with family travel in Malaysia has turned what could be just routine trips into rich, formative experiences for our children. It’s a reminder that growth often happens outside comfort zones, and that exposing kids to various life aspects early on equips them better for the future.

When I was solo travelling in KL, I actually switched hotels every day just to try different experiences. One of the more interesting ones was a capsule hotel—I figured, why not give it a shot? . I have to say, it’s really affordable. But comfort-wise, it really depends on what you’re used to. Yo
