Renovating a house after a long period of renting it out can be both thrilling and daunting. I found that one of the most meaningful parts of the process was involving my family in the traditional house rituals, which not only added a personal touch to our renovation but also helped set a positive intention for our new beginning. Showing consideration to neighbors by writing apology letters and giving thoughtful souvenirs, such as gifts from Korea, created a friendly atmosphere and eased any inconvenience related to the renovation noise and activity. Selecting key appliances and fixtures is often an overwhelming step. Our trip to Gain City to pick ceiling fans, a fridge, and a washing machine reminded me how important it is to balance style, functionality, and budget. Brands like Tefal and Corelle stood out to me for their quality and design, which made incorporating them into our home a pleasure. Sharing these decisions through my renovation journey allows others to see the practical side of home renovation beyond walls and paint. If you’re embarking on your own renovation journey, I recommend documenting every step, from planning to the final move-in. It’s a beautiful way to track progress, celebrate milestones, and offer honest advice to others. Renovation is not just about transforming a space but also about creating a home filled with memories and care. Follow along for more updates and detailed stories as I continue to share my experiences, loves, and lessons learned during this exciting phase of our lives.
