A luxurious treat at Grand Hyatt Bali 🏝️

Nusa Dua is where you go when you’re craving luxury, tranquility, and a bit of Bali’s finest hospitality. Known for its sprawling five-star resorts and pristine beaches, it’s a top pick for travelers seeking both relaxation and elegance. On my first trip to Bali, I stayed here. If anyone’s looking for a luxury resort stay in Nusa Dua - this post is for you. Save it!

🛬 Arriving in Nusa dua

The journey to Nusa Dua from the airport is a scenic delight. The drive along Bali’s newest expressway = a treat to stunning coastal views before finally entering the exclusive gates of Nusa Dua. This area is pretty serious about security — our car had to pass through two security checkpoints. Definitely adding to the feeling of safety and exclusivity.

🏖️ THE RESORT

is a massive, luxurious oasis. I kid you not.

As we drove out the long driveway, it was clear that this was no ordinary resort. It is H U G E — one of those places where you’d get lost at least once. The property is surrounded by lush greenery, pools, and plenty of spaces to relax.

When we arrived, the resort’s hospitality kicked in immediately. Our bags were whisked away, ready to meet us later in our room while were were invited to wait in the open-air lobby with a wifi card. Check-in wasn’t until 3pm.

Because of the resort’s location and our early arrival to no room, we had to head to one of the resort’s restaurants for lunch. 10 minutes into our lunch, we received a WhatsApp message letting us know that our room was ready. Had they notified us earlier, we would have ordered food delivery instead.

After collecting our keys from front desk, a staff member escorted us to our room, located in the North Village, a short walk from the main lobby.

Our room was spacious, featuring a walk-in wardrobe, a separate shower and a tub, a day bed and small balcony. While the room had everything we needed, it was clear that some of the furniture - especially the day bed - had seen better days. Housekeeping was excellent and fresh bottled water was provided daily.

This resort is truly a destination in itself. With multiple pools, restaurants, and even a private beach, you could spend your entire vacation here without ever leaving.

Here’s a quick rundown of what I loved:

🍣 Nampu (the Japanese restaurant), where I had breakfast twice. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, and the food presentation was top-notch.

🍝 Salsa Verde (the Italian restaurant)

Decent food with gorgeous pool and sea views. However, the portions were small, and sides needed to be ordered separately. Outdoor seating was lovely but bring insect repellent!

🧖‍♀️🧖🧖‍♂️ Spa experience

Let’s just say I snored my way through a luxurious foot massage. 😂

While it was definitely pricey ($120 for an hour long foot reflexology), the experience was worth every penny. From the serene ambiance to the attentive service, it was an hour of pure bliss.

🏝️ Private beach

Want to try some water sports? Or just relax by the ocean? The Grand Hyatt’s private beach is the perfect spot to enjoy some sun and sea. ☀️

While the resort delivers on luxury, there are a few things that could be updated. The rooms, although large and well-appointed, feel a bit dated. The day bed, in particular, seemed like it had seen better days. And while the service across the property was generally top-notch, there were some inconsistencies in the dining experience — breakfast at Nampu was lovely, but Salsa Verde’s service was a bit overwhelmed by the volume of guests.

Overall, the Grand Hyatt Bali is a solid choice for a luxurious, quiet escape in Nusa Dua. The resort is massive, with so much to explore that guests could easily spend their entire trip on the property without getting bored. Would I stay here again? Probably, but I am also curious about some of the other resorts in the area.

Bonus Tips for Staying at the Grand Hyatt Bali:

🔅 Book a private driver for the trip from the airport—it makes a world of difference in convenience.

🔅 If you’re into spas, don’t miss their in-house spa treatments. Yes, it’s pricey, but trust me, you’ll feel like a new person afterward.

🔅 Make sure to explore all the breakfast options across the resort! Each restaurant has the same menu, but the presentation and service vary.

🔅 The kids’ club offers complimentary hours, but be aware that they charge after the first two hours—so plan ahead if you’re traveling with little ones!

Grand Hyatt Bali
2025/9/21 Edited to

... Read moreOne of the aspects I found invaluable during my stay at Grand Hyatt Bali was the resort’s seamless blend of luxury and comfort that caters to different traveler needs. Beyond the spacious rooms and gorgeous scenery, families will appreciate the kids’ club which offers complimentary initial hours, an excellent bonus for parents wanting some quiet time. Just keep in mind that fees apply beyond the first two hours, so planning your day accordingly is key. For food lovers, while I enjoyed breakfast at Nampu immensely for its great service and fresh sushi options, there are other dining venues worth exploring within the resort for varied tastes. Salsa Verde offers scenic views though parts of the service can feel rushed during peak times. Besides these, the breakfast buffet is a highlight, featuring a range of international dishes that cater well to diverse palates. When it comes to wellness, I highly recommend investing in the in-house spa treatments despite their premium price. The calming atmosphere combined with skillful therapists offers profound relaxation that you'll definitely feel the next day. It's one of those indulgences that enhances your entire holiday experience. Transportation is another consideration — booking a private driver from the airport greatly simplifies your arrival and sets a luxurious tone right from the start. The scenic route to Nusa Dua via Bali’s expressway is quite enjoyable and the resort’s security checkpoints reinforce a feeling of safety. Lastly, while the resort does feature some furniture that could use updating—such as the day bed in the room—these minor imperfections don’t overshadow the overall excellent housekeeping and friendly staff who constantly strive to enhance guest experiences. In summary, Grand Hyatt Bali is not just a place to stay but a retreat that offers luxury, convenience, and thoughtful services in one location. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, family vacation, or solo relaxation time, this resort has the amenities and ambiance to support a memorable Bali holiday.
