#onthisday little throwback… How do YOU get on stilts? I personally don’t nowadays because being 29 weeks pregnant, my balance is not what it used to be and it would be too dangerous for baby girl! 😅
Using stilts has always been a fun and thrilling experience for me, offering a unique perspective and a bit of a challenge to balance and coordination. However, as my pregnancy progressed, especially reaching 29 weeks, I realized how much my body was changing in ways that affected my stability. Pregnant women often experience shifts in their center of gravity and increased joint laxity, which can make activities like stilting riskier. Since becoming pregnant, I've become much more cautious about activities that could compromise my or my baby's safety. Stilts, while enjoyable, require a strong sense of balance and control — something that pregnancy can temporarily diminish. I’ve heard from other expectant moms that it’s essential to listen to your body and prioritize safety over thrill, which I absolutely agree with. If you’re considering stilts while pregnant or simply want to stay active safely, I recommend exploring modified activities like gentle balance exercises or prenatal yoga to maintain coordination without risking falls. Connecting with a healthcare provider for personalized advice is also a great step. This might not be the time for stilts, but it’s important to remember the fun will wait until you’re ready to get back to it! In the meantime, reminiscing on past joyful moments on stilts helps keep the spirit alive. Looking back at old photos or videos can remind you of your capabilities and anticipation for when you can confidently return to such fun activities post-pregnancy.
