This should be on everybody’s TBR

⭐️Overall rating: 5/5

Synopsis: Three sisters, all princess in a small kingdom. The oldest sister marries a prince, only to return home dead. The middle sister marries the same prince and gives him a child. The youngest sister notices that something is afoot, and makes a vow to save her only other living sister. This is the story of Marra completing impossible tasks and making friends along the way to make sure her sister is safe. Leaving the safety of the convent, she aims to kill a prince to gain her sister’s freedom.

👍Pros : This is a cozy story. There’s witches, fairy godmothers, dogs made from bones, magic, and royalty. In a lot of ways, this book has a vibe as one of Grimm’s fairytales, but then there were moments that made me laugh. I liked that the characters were older, this wasn’t the adventure of some teenager - Marra is in her thirties when she sets out on this quest.

There were moments when I laughed, when I felt spooked, and was otherwise so invested in the plot that I didn’t notice time passing.

🤔Cons: If you’re uncomfortable with a funeral for a child or brief mentions of miscarriages, you may want to tread carefully. While this is something that I usually avoid, I thought it was done in a way that didn’t strike me as triggering, but may still be for some people.

A Kindle e-reader displays the cover of 'The Faking Game' by Olivia Hayle, featuring a couple in front of an estate. Arrows point to tropes like Fake Dating, Brother's Best Friend, Roommates, Praise Kink, Virgin Heroine, and Dating Lessons. The image includes the text 'ARC COPY'.
A book blurb on a pink background details the start of a fake relationship between West Calloway and his brother's best friend, including dating lessons and protection from a stalker. Poker chips and playing cards are at the bottom.
The continuation of the book blurb describes the secret dating lessons, kissing, and sleeping in the same bed, with the rule that the brother cannot find out. It hints at blurring lines between fake and real feelings.

Okay now this one right here caught my attention
Just look at this cover… baby it’s already giving dark, creepy, and something not right. From what I’m hearing, The Mortal Affairs deals with the darker side of human choices — secrets, temptation, and the kind of decisions that can open the door to things you probably should’ve left alone. A
