APRIL READS

When you are a full time slacker you post your last months reads LATE.

Last month I only read 3 physical books, 4 audiobooks, and 1 kindle. (We were on vacation for like 9-10 nights so I didn’t do any reading during that time)

My FAV read of the month was Count My Lies which was one of my BOTM picks!

... Read moreOkay, fellow bookworms, who else feels like reading is a marathon, not a sprint, especially when life throws a curveball like a vacation? My April was a whirlwind, and being a self-proclaimed 'slacker' (not really, just busy!), my reading list might look a little different from my usual. But hey, progress is progress, right? I managed to squeeze in quite a few gems, and I'm excited to share my thoughts, especially since I know we all struggle with that 'Too Many Books? Not Enough Bookshelves' dilemma! That 9-10 night vacation was glorious, but it definitely cut into my dedicated reading time. Usually, I'd bring a stack of physical books, but this time around, audiobooks truly saved the day for those long travel stretches and winding down in new places. It's all about adapting, and embracing all formats of reading has been a game-changer for me. Between the physical books, audiobooks, and a trusty Kindle, I hit a total of 8 reads last month! Let's talk about my absolute favorite of the month: 'Count My Lies' by Sophie Stava. This was one of my Book of the Month picks, and oh my goodness, it did not disappoint! It was one of those thrillers that kept me guessing until the very last page. If you love a good psychological twist, add this to your list ASAP. It had me completely hooked, making those few hours I got to read feel precious. And speaking of emotional reads, I also finally got around to 'Reminders of Him' by Colleen Hoover. I know, I know, everyone talks about her, but there’s a reason! Her stories just hit differently. This one was a poignant journey of grief, forgiveness, and second chances. It definitely tugged at my heartstrings. If you need a good cry and a beautiful story of redemption, this is it. Then there was 'Kill Joy' by Holly Jackson – another fantastic read that kept me on the edge. I love a good detective novel, and this one delivered suspense and intrigue. It’s perfect if you're looking for a fast-paced mystery that you won't want to put down. Balancing physical books, audiobooks, and Kindle reads really helped me maximize my reading this month. I find audiobooks perfect for chores, commutes, or even just relaxing while doing something else. My Kindle is fantastic for late-night reading without disturbing anyone, and of course, physical books are for those cozy, dedicated reading sessions when you can truly immerse yourself. It’s all about finding what works for your lifestyle. Don't feel pressured to always have a physical book in hand – reading in any format counts! Honestly, looking at my burgeoning bookshelf, I often wonder if I'll ever catch up. That sign, 'Too Many Books? Not Enough Bookshelves,' hits a little too close to home! But it’s a good problem to have, right? It just means there are always new worlds to explore and new stories waiting to be discovered. So, that was my April reading journey. It wasn’t the biggest stack I’ve ever conquered, but each book offered something unique. I'd love to hear what gems you discovered last month! What made your 'April Reads' list?

I've been working more and it's been causing me to need to sleep more, so I've had less time to read than I'd like. Honestly I've been in a reading slump too. I don't have the attention span to invest in a book right now and I'm kinda sad about it. Hopefully I can start
