I quickly realized that simply cutting calories wasn't enough; it was about the quality of those calories. My biggest takeaway, and something I can't stress enough, is to focus on getting more protein and veggies into every meal. Protein keeps you full and helps build lean muscle, which in turn boosts your metabolism. Think grilled chicken, fish, eggs, lentils, and Greek yogurt. As for veggies, load up! They're packed with fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and they fill you up without adding a lot of calories.
