This is Lexy and we had to fight the shelter to get her…
So basically we got her in the pandemic in 2020 and the shelters had no visitors which we totally understand and the only way to see one of the dogs it was by appointment.
So we called to get an appointment and they said that she already had a family interested on her so we could not get an appointment and we were like Ok but a few days pass and she was still available in the website.
We decided to called again and they mentioned that the family missed the appointment but they were gonna again and we let them know that we were interested on her but they said that the family had priority so we understand again.
More days passed by and she was still available at the website so we called again and they said they were waiting on an answer on the family so we said this: We have called a few times triying to get an appointment so we can see her cause we are interested on her and you guys keep postponing and mean while that dog is just sitting in the shelter when there’s someone that wants to adopt her.
After this and a few more words they finally gave us the appointment, we went to see her, following all the protocols and we adopted her.
Actually according to one of the workers from the shelter the family that finally saw her did not want her cause she has a little bump on her belly which for us was definitely not a problem and we are so happy to have her with us.
