On my way to becoming a pilot
As I’ve started my journey to becoming a pilot in the Fall of 2024 at Florida Tech I’ve learned so much. I’ve been able to see really beautiful sunrises and been able to fly and just enjoy flight. But I also struggled in managing flight and my classes. There’s a lot to learn such as regulations, weather, systems, and more. It feels like I’m becoming a meteorologist, aircraft engineer, and a pilot. It can becoming so overwhelming especially when I was upset that I wasn’t doing well in classes and it felt like I was failing not just myself but my parents as well. At many points I’ve doubted myself and thought maybe this isn’t the field for me but every time I over come that feeling I realize that I was foolish to think that. Its also a very expensive field I never realized that until I had to pull out money out of pocket to help pay for my flight training which I’m still doing right now and it makes me feel awful if I don’t complete a lesson or if I need improvement because my parents are hard workers and they just want me to have a better future. I believe this will all pay off in the end and I motivate myself and small accomplishments is definitely worthy of celebrating. If you are thinking of doing this field too I’d recommend researching and starting to learn as soon as you can.
I’ll definitely post updates of how my training is going. I’m currently working on my private pilot license and I would appreciate anything to help pay for loans.

Embarking on the path to becoming a pilot is not just about flying; it involves extensive learning and preparation. Each flight offers a unique perspective, often accompanied by stunning sunrises that make the early mornings worthwhile. However, the journey can be daunting, especially balancing rigorous academic demands with flight training. Understanding aviation theory is crucial. Aspiring pilots must grasp regulations, meteorology, flight principles, and aircraft mechanics. This knowledge ensures safety and compliance in the skies. Additionally, recent studies highlight the importance of mental resilience in aviation, emphasizing that flight training can indeed be overwhelming, particularly when finances and self-doubt come into play. Many aspiring pilots struggle with the steep costs of training, often leading to anxiety about meeting expectations set by themselves and their families.
