I'm moving to Japan!

Hey Study blossoms!!!

I'm so happy to finally share some news with y'all!

I'm finally moving to Japan this summer!

I got accepted into the JET program and will be moving to Ehime Prefecture!

I will be gone for a minimum of a year! ✨

If you have more questions, I posted a short video answering the most common questions I get asked by the few people I have already told on Youtube

✨☺️🌸

Also like sorry for the audio being weird. It's my first YouTube video and I'm still learning the ropes of it lol.

... Read moreOh my gosh, the moment those 'JET PROGRAM 2024 Results' landed in my inbox, my heart practically leaped out of my chest! It's such an incredible mix of relief, excitement, and a tiny bit of 'oh my goodness, this is really happening!' for anyone who's been through the application process. For those of you eagerly waiting or planning to apply, trust me, the journey is worth it for that feeling of seeing 'accepted'! Now that the initial euphoria has settled a little, the real planning begins. If you've also received your acceptance for the JET Programme, you're probably wondering, 'What's next?' My first step was diving into all the official paperwork – it can seem a bit overwhelming with visas, background checks, and various forms, but taking it one step at a time makes it manageable. There are usually detailed instructions provided by your embassy or consulate, so make sure to follow them closely. I've also started a checklist for what to pack, researching everything from essential documents to practical items for daily life in Japan. My placement in Ehime Prefecture is something I'm incredibly thrilled about! I've been spending hours online, looking at pictures of traditional Japanese streets, the stunning mountains, and imagining myself exploring all the local spots. Ehime is renowned for its beautiful scenery and delicious mikan (tangerines), and I can't wait to immerse myself in the local culture. It's so different from anything I've experienced before, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how everyday life unfolds there. If you're heading to Ehime too, or any rural prefecture, get ready for some truly authentic experiences away from the major city hustle. Beyond the paperwork, I'm trying to mentally prepare for the big move. Learning basic Japanese phrases has been a top priority – even just a few key greetings and phrases can make a huge difference in those first few weeks. I'm also researching Japanese customs and etiquette to ensure a smooth transition and show respect for my new home. Things like bowing, taking off shoes indoors, and understanding public transport rules are small but important details. It's all part of embracing the adventure! For anyone dreaming of the JET Program, my biggest advice is to be persistent, authentic in your application, and don't be afraid to show your passion for Japan and cultural exchange. And once you get those results, start planning early! This is just the beginning of an amazing journey, and I’m so excited to share more of it with you all as I prepare to embark on this incredible chapter in Japan.
