my home cleaning habits 🧽

i like to consider myself a strategist or in this case, a home strategist (lol) because i don’t like to spend a lot of time cleaning.. and with having a toddler, things can get pretty messy really quick.

so, here is how i clean my home depending on how much time i have:

short on time - don’t have to be determined by zones, for me it’s more so about specific outcomes. if there’s things on the floor, i’ll pick up items on the floor within all of the zones and will do all 3 methods in a day.

power hours - i actually enjoy these the most, you don’t realize how much you can get done within an hour. i use these to clean a zone for an hour or multiple zones, throughout the hour. a real motivator, for me.

got time - my most time-consuming tasks, these are planned for a day i don’t have anything to do, so i can take my time

... Read moreKeeping a clean home can feel daunting, especially for busy parents who juggle multiple responsibilities. Here’s a comprehensive overview to enhance your cleaning routine: **Start with Cleaning Zones**: Organize your cleaning tasks by specific areas in your home—bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms. This method allows you to focus on one zone at a time, making your efforts more manageable. **Quick Tidying Techniques**: For those moments when you're pressed for time, utilize the 'quick tidy' method. Identify pain points in your home—like dirty dishes or toys scattered on the floor—and focus solely on those areas that need immediate attention. A five-minute blitz can do wonders. **Power Hour Cleaning**: Schedule an hour each week dedicated to deep cleaning. Set a timer and see how much ground you can cover. Whether you choose to clean one zone thoroughly or tackle multiple zones, you'll be amazed at how efficient this method can be. **Time Management**: Prioritizing your cleaning tasks according to your availability can significantly decrease stress and increase effectiveness. On days when you have more time, delve into deeper cleaning tasks such as decluttering closets or deep-cleaning the kitchen appliances, allowing yourself to enjoy the satisfaction of a thoroughly clean space. **Declutter and Organize**: Regularly declutter areas like your garage or laundry room. Go through clothes, tools, and items you rarely use. Establish a system for organizing these spaces to prevent chaos from building up again. **Routine Check**: Create a cleaning checklist based on these strategies and adhere to it. Consistency is key in maintaining a clean and organized home, making it both comfortable for your family and presentable for guests. Using tags like #hometips, #timemanagement, and #organizationideas can also help you find and share useful resources with a community of like-minded individuals.
