Chick-Fil-A Chicken Minis Copycat Recipe

I’d say these are pretty close to the real thing. Save your money! I had these for dinner this week :)

Ingredients:

• Just Bare chicken breast chunks

• Honey

• Butter

• Sister Schubert’s Yeast Rolls

Directions:

1. Follow instructions to cook rolls. I cooked these about 3 minutes less than the recommended minimum time (to keep them soft).

2. Cook the Just Bare chicken until fully cooked.

3. Once both the rolls and chicken are cooked, gently slice the rolls down the center, leaving them attached on one side (like a hotdog bun). Insert a piece of chicken into each roll.

4. Place them on an oven safe tray (I reused the bread tin).

5. In a microwaveable bowl, melt butter. Add a generous amount of honey and mix.

6. Paint the mixture onto the rolls.

7. Place the rolls back into the oven for about 2 minutes to warm. Serve and enjoy!

... Read moreI absolutely adore Chick-fil-A Chicken Minis, but let's be real, those trips can add up! That's why I started perfecting my own copycat recipe at home, and honestly, I think it's even better because I can customize it. Plus, it's a huge money-saver, which means more minis for me! One of the biggest questions I get is about the ingredients, especially the chicken and those iconic soft rolls. For the chicken, I swear by the Just Bare chicken breast chunks mentioned in the recipe. They cook up perfectly and have that great texture, almost like the real deal's crispy chicken pieces. But if you're looking for other convenient options, I've heard amazing things about using Kirkland chicken nuggets for a similar shortcut! Just make sure whatever chicken you choose is fully cooked and hot when you assemble your minis. If you're feeling ambitious, you can even bread and fry your own chicken pieces for an extra level of authenticity, but for an easy weeknight meal or quick breakfast, pre-cooked is the way to go. Now, for the rolls – they are crucial! While Chick-fil-A uses its own proprietary yeast rolls, I've found that Sister Schubert's Yeast Rolls are an absolute game-changer for this copycat recipe. They're incredibly soft and bake up beautifully, giving you that pillowy base that holds the chicken so well. I always undercook them slightly, just like in the recipe, to ensure they stay super soft and don't get too toasty. If Sister Schubert's aren't available where you are, look for any good quality, small, frozen yeast roll that bakes up soft and fluffy. The goal is that melt-in-your-mouth texture. And let's not forget that dreamy honey butter! The melted butter and honey mixture is what brings it all together. Don't be shy with it; a generous slather makes all the difference. Sometimes, I even add a tiny pinch of salt to balance the sweetness, but that's totally optional. These aren't just for dinner anymore! While I love them for a quick weeknight meal, they truly shine as a breakfast or brunch item, just like the famous Chick-fil-A breakfast minis. They're fantastic for meal prepping too. I’ll often make a big batch on a Sunday and then just warm them up quickly in the air fryer or oven throughout the week. If you're hosting a get-together, consider making a whole "chick fil a breakfast minis tray" by arranging them nicely on a platter. They're always a huge hit and disappear fast! You can even add a little cheese inside or serve with various dipping sauces like honey mustard or a spicy mayo for extra flair. The beauty of this recipe is its simplicity and how close it gets to the original taste without the drive-thru wait or the cost. Trust me, once you try making these homemade Chick-fil-A style chicken minis, you'll wonder why you ever bought them out!
