iPhone setting To change

I got the new iPhone 16 Pro Max in the color Natural Titanium on Monday. I am in Love with this phone, but here a few setting I changed the first day of having it.

- Raise To Wake; While it’s nice to have the option if you’re someone who checks their phones often, but I pick my phone up & put it down VERY often.

- Always on Display; I can see the appeal if you’re someone who’s popular or gets a lot of messages or emails. I’m simply just not a real influencer YET :)

- Camera Controls; I changed these settings for the quality of both photos & videos! YES these changes do take up little more space, BUT for an influencer dupe I think it’s worth it for those crispy clean photos.

... Read moreGetting a new iPhone, especially the stunning iPhone 16 Pro Max, is always exciting! While the out-of-the-box experience is great, I’ve found that tweaking a few settings right away can truly make it your phone. Beyond the common changes like 'Raise to Wake' and 'Always On Display' for battery life, there are other crucial adjustments that can elevate your daily experience and even your creative output. Let's talk about display settings first. You might have seen 'True Tone' and 'Night Shift' mentioned, and they both aim to make your screen easier on the eyes, but in different ways. 'True Tone' is fantastic; it automatically adjusts the color and intensity of your display to match the ambient light in your environment. For me, it makes reading feel more natural, almost like looking at paper. I keep 'True Tone' on because it creates a consistent and comfortable viewing experience, whether I'm indoors under warm lights or outside in bright sunlight. 'Night Shift,' on the other hand, is all about reducing blue light, especially in the evenings. Many people swear by it for better sleep, as blue light can disrupt your circadian rhythm. While I personally keep 'Night Shift' off during the day, I do schedule it to kick in after sunset. It gives the screen a warmer, more orange tint, which is much gentler on the eyes before bed. Another display setting that’s often overlooked is 'Auto-Lock.' For security, it’s vital that your phone locks itself after a period of inactivity. I personally set my 'Auto-Lock' to 30 seconds. This is a sweet spot for me – long enough that the screen doesn't go dark mid-message, but short enough that if I put my phone down, it quickly locks, keeping my information secure. You can choose from various options like 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 4 minutes, 5 minutes, or Never (though I don’t recommend 'Never' for security!). Finding the right balance for your usage is key. Now, for content creators or anyone who loves taking high-quality photos and videos, the camera settings on the iPhone 16 Pro Max are a game-changer. The default 'Photo Mode' now captures stunning 24 MP images, which is a significant jump in detail from previous iPhones. But if you truly want to unlock professional-grade photography, enabling 'ProRAW & Resolution Control' is a must. 'ProRAW Max' gives you maximum flexibility when editing, retaining far more detail in highlights and shadows than standard JPEGs. It means your photos might take up more space, but for that “crispy clean photos” look, especially if you plan to edit them later, it's absolutely worth it. And for video, 'Apple ProRes' with 'ProRes Encoding' set to 'Log' is incredible. ProRes is a high-quality, lightly compressed video format favored by professionals. The 'Log' profile takes this a step further by capturing a flat, desaturated image with a wider dynamic range, perfect for color grading in post-production. While it might look a bit dull straight out of the camera, it gives you immense control to achieve cinematic looks. I've been experimenting with it, and the results for my short videos are just stunning – definitely helps achieve that “influencer dupe” quality! Beyond these specific settings, don't forget to explore other customization options. Things like configuring your Focus Modes (Work, Personal, Sleep) to manage notifications, organizing your App Library, or even just setting up custom lock screen widgets can make your iPhone 16 Pro Max feel truly personalized. Every little tweak helps make your new device integrate seamlessly into your life.
