The first mistake, "living to impress others," often leads us away from our authentic goals. Embracing the truth that we owe nothing to anyone is liberating and allows us to invest fully in our own projects and futures. Another common pitfall is waiting for the "perfect moment" to start something new. I used to hesitate, thinking all conditions had to be flawless before I could begin. However, starting with what you have and where you are—no matter how small the step—builds momentum and confidence. Progress rarely comes from waiting but from action, even amidst uncertainty. Lastly, many give up too quickly when obstacles arise. I faced multiple setbacks in my entrepreneurial journey, often feeling unsupported or doubting my capabilities. Yet, understanding why my project mattered to me financially and personally kept me going. Knowing your "why" fuels resilience, even when support feels lacking. The journey is not easy, but success comes from pushing through fear, criticism, and difficulties. It’s important to acknowledge that challenges are part of growth and that perseverance is a key factor in achieving your dreams. Surrounding yourself with a community that uplifts and learning from mistakes rather than fearing them can make all the difference. Sharing these insights with fellow women—especially immigrant and entrepreneurial mothers—has shown me how powerful personal stories and motivation can be. Your dreams deserve more than excuses. Start now, embrace imperfection, and never quit at the first obstacle.
