Headaches
I’m genuinely jealous of people who don’t get headaches often.
For me, they’re just part of the background of life. Not dramatic, or debilitating most days, but just enough to make everything a little harder.
It’s strange how something so common can quietly shape your day.
If you’re someone who rarely gets them, consider that a gift. And if you deal with them regularly, you’re not alone.

It’s not just a 'headache' for those of us who get them all the time; it’s a constant companion. Like the original post, I often wake up with one, and that familiar dull ache in the back of my head starts my day. Sometimes it’s a throbbing pain on one side, other times it feels like pressure on the top of my head, or even a tight band around my temples. I've learned to differentiate some of these, but honestly, sometimes it's just 'a bad headache,' as some of you might search for. I’ve always wondered, 'Why do I keep getting headaches everyday?' Is it stress from being a working mom? Is it my hormones, as I've seen mentioned in some articles and even wondered about myself, especially when I think about if mine are hormonal? Or perhaps certain light settings trigger it, making me pull out my sunnies even indoors, just like I was ready to do this morning because I felt so nauseous. Beyond the common tension or migraine, I've heard people talk about sinus headaches, which feel like pressure around your eyes and cheeks, or even the intense pain of cluster headaches. While I haven't personally experienced cluster headaches, I know how debilitating any type of headache can be. Sometimes a stiff neck can even contribute, making me wonder about things like neck pain hypertension – it's all so interconnected! So, what do you do when a headache strikes, especially when you're out or at work, or if your head hurts at school for the younger ones? My first instinct is usually to take medication, but sometimes I forget, and then I'm suffering right now. I've tried all sorts of remedies. I even carry a 'migraine stick' – you know, those roll-on aromatherapy things you put on your forehead or the back of your neck? Honestly, it might be a placebo, but it sometimes helps alleviate the headache for me. Today, mine broke and was leaking, so I was stuck! Hydration is key, a quiet dark room helps, and sometimes just a few minutes of fresh air can make a difference. For those really tough ones, finding a way to lie down, even for a short bit, can be a game-changer. It’s about understanding your body and finding your personal triggers. Are you skipping meals? Dehydrated? Staring at a screen too long? For me, it often feels like a combination of factors. And while I'm still searching for that instant relief from a bad headache, knowing I'm not alone in this #HeadacheLife makes it a little easier. Remember, if your headaches are severe or change suddenly, it's always best to talk to a doctor.
