Ankylosing Spondylitis hard chiropractor cracking

... Read moreWhen you're dealing with a chronic condition like Ankylosing Spondylitis, every day can bring new challenges, especially when it comes to managing pain and stiffness. For a long time, I felt like I was constantly battling my own body, searching for anything that could offer a glimmer of relief. That's when I started looking into complementary therapies, and chiropractic care kept coming up in my research. My primary concern, like many others with Ankylosing Spondylitis, was safety. I wondered, 'Is chiropractic safe for Ankylosing Spondylitis?' and 'Can a chiropractor help Ankylosing Spondylitis without causing more harm?' These were valid questions, given the nature of the condition, which affects the spine. I decided to take the plunge and schedule an initial consultation, making sure to find a chiropractor who had experience with inflammatory conditions like AS. During my first visit, I had a thorough discussion about my diagnosis of Ankylosing Spondylitis, my current symptoms, and my medical history. This initial assessment was crucial because it helped the chiropractor understand the specific areas of my spine affected by the disease and determine if chiropractic adjustments were appropriate for me. We talked about different techniques, and I learned that not all chiropractic manipulation is the same; there are gentler approaches suitable for sensitive conditions. Since beginning my chiropractic treatment, I've experienced some noticeable improvements. The goal of my sessions isn't to cure Ankylosing Spondylitis—because it's a chronic condition—but to improve spinal mobility, reduce nerve irritation, and alleviate some of the associated pain. I’ve found that regular, gentle chiropractic adjustments have helped reduce the stiffness in my back and neck, making everyday movements a bit easier. It's not a magic bullet, but it's definitely become a valuable part of my overall pain management strategy. For anyone considering chiropractic care for Ankylosing Spondylitis, I can't stress enough the importance of open communication with both your rheumatologist and your chiropractor. It’s essential to ensure that any chiropractic treatment plan complements your existing medical care. My chiropractor works with me to ensure the techniques used are safe for someone with Ankylosing Spondylitis, avoiding high-force manipulations on affected areas. This collaborative approach has given me peace of mind. In my experience, chiropractic care offers a non-pharmacological option that focuses on improving physical function. While it's not for everyone, exploring whether it could be beneficial for your specific case of Ankylosing Spondylitis might be worth considering. It's about finding what works for your body and your unique journey with AS.

I dont get visible symptoms of AMPS either so... the pain is truly invisible. I went to the waterpark today and would do it again in a heartbeat! It was so fun- but all the walking triggered something to go haywire in me. #AMPS
