Flan 🍮
Flan is a favorite dessert across many cultures, known for its smooth, creamy texture and rich flavor. The classic version typically consists of eggs, sugar, and milk, with a sweet caramel layer on top. However, this flan recipe introduces queso crema and evaporated milk, enhancing the creaminess and indulgent flavor profile. To prepare the flan, start by gathering your ingredients: 1 cup queso crema, 6 eggs, 1 can of evaporated milk, and sugar for caramelizing. You can customize your flan by adding a touch of vanilla extract for an aromatic note. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). For the caramel, melt sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown, then pour it into your flan mold, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. In a blender, mix the queso crema, eggs, evaporated milk, and vanilla if desired until well combined. Pour this mixture over the cooled caramel layer. Next, create a water bath by placing the flan mold inside a larger baking dish filled with hot water, and bake for about 50-60 minutes or until set. Allow it to cool before refrigerating for at least 4 hours, or overnight for the best texture. When ready to serve, run a knife around the edges of the mold and invert it onto a serving platter, revealing the delectable caramel sauce. Flan is wonderful on its own but can also be paired with fresh fruits or whipped cream for additional flavor. This creamy dessert will certainly impress your guests or satisfy your sweet cravings!
