🌾 Sunday Supper ~ There’s Always Room at the Table🌾

Breaking Bread at the Mustard Seed with Stacey

🍞Just a Little Daily Bread…🍞

Revelation 3:20 ~

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”

There is something special about Sunday supper.

The week slows down. The table is set. The chairs begin to fill. Conversations flow, laughter echoes, and hearts reconnect.

But long before we ever gather at our own tables, Jesus invites us to His.

Scripture reminds us that He stands at the door and knocks… not demanding entry, but lovingly inviting relationship. When we open our hearts to Him, He sits with us. He shares the table. He fills our empty places with His presence.

At His table there is…

• Grace for the weary

• Mercy for the broken

• Bread for the hungry soul

• And always… room for one more

Maybe today you feel tired from the week. Maybe your heart is heavy. Maybe you’re simply longing for peace.

Pull up a chair.

Jesus has already prepared the table.

And you are always welcome at it.

Lord, thank You for inviting us to sit at Your table. When life feels overwhelming or lonely, remind us that Your presence is always near. Fill our hearts with Your peace and our homes with Your love. Help us share Your grace with everyone who gathers around our table. Amen!

Today as families gather for Sunday supper, remember… the most important seat at the table belongs to Jesus. 🤍

... Read moreGathering for Sunday supper has always held a special place in my heart as a time to slow down and reconnect with loved ones. I’ve found that beyond the delicious food and lively conversations, it’s the spiritual invitation that truly transforms the experience. The verse from Revelation 3:20 resonates deeply: Jesus stands at the door and knocks, inviting us into an intimate fellowship, not by force but with gentle love. Over the years, I’ve witnessed how opening our hearts to this invitation can change the atmosphere of a meal and the atmosphere of our lives. Even when the week has been exhausting or burdens have weighed heavily, sitting down at the table with the mindset that Jesus is present fills the room with grace and peace. It’s a reminder that none of us are ever truly alone, and there is always room for one more at His table. For those longing for hope and renewal, Sunday supper can become a sacred ritual of rest and spiritual nourishment. It’s not just about feeding the body but feeding the soul with mercy and love. Whether it’s a large family gathering or an intimate meal, the act of welcoming others mirrors the love that Jesus extends to us. If you’re feeling weary or burdened today, I encourage you to pull up a chair and accept His invitation. Prepare your heart as He has prepared the table. Let the presence of Jesus fill the empty spaces in your life and bring healing to your weary soul. This practice has helped me share grace freely with those around me, strengthening community and faith through simple acts of kindness at the dinner table. Remember, Sunday supper is more than a meal—it’s an opportunity to experience God’s promises and to celebrate the joy of togetherness in faith. As families gather now and in the future, may the most important seat remain reserved for Jesus, whose love binds us all.
