I’ve been trying to drink more water throughout the day, and making loaded water combos with fresh fruit has been my favorite trick. It adds natural flavor without sugar and makes plain water so much more refreshing. I use these water combos to trick my kids into drinking more water and lower their juice intake.
Here are the combos I made this time:
🍓🍏 Strawberry Apple Water
This one has a light natural sweetness. The strawberries add a soft berry flavor while the apple gives it a crisp and refreshing taste.
🫐🍋 Lemon Blueberry Water
Slightly tangy with a hint of berry sweetness. The lemon brightens the flavor while the blueberries add a subtle fruity note.
🍓 🍊🍋 Strawberry Citrus Water
A refreshing mix of strawberries with citrus slices. It tastes bright, juicy, and a little sweet with a fresh citrus finish.
🍋🍈 Lemon Lime Water
Simple but super refreshing. The lemon and lime together create a bold citrus flavor that feels clean and energizing.
I love making these because they take less than 5 minutes to prepare and they help me drink way more water during the day. Plus the fruit makes the water taste naturally refreshing without any added sugar.

That’s why loaded water combos, infused with fresh fruit, have become my go-to hydration hack. Not only do these combinations add a delightful natural taste, but they also encourage me to drink more water consistently.
I love that these combos are incredibly simple to make—usually under 5 minutes—and you can customize them based on what fruit you have at home. For example, the Strawberry Apple combo balances a subtle berry sweetness and crisp apple freshness that gives the water a naturally pleasing flavor. On days when I want a bit more zest, I turn to the Lemon Blueberry, where the tangy lemon pairs wonderfully with sweet blueberries, creating a refreshing and vibrant drink.
The Strawberry Citrus mix is a perfect summer refresher with its juicy and bright citrus notes complemented by strawberries’ sweetness. And when I need a clean, energizing boost, the classic Lemon Lime water does the trick perfectly—its bold citrus flavor feels really revitalizing.
Adding fruit to water is also a great way to avoid sugary drinks and artificially flavored beverages, which can contribute unnecessary calories. Plus, the antioxidants from the fruits add a minor nutritional boost without overpowering the flavor.
If you want to try loaded water combos yourself, start with the fruits you enjoy most! Experiment with combinations like watermelon and mint or cucumber and lemon to keep your hydration routine exciting. You can prepare a big pitcher and keep it in the fridge for easy access throughout the day.
Hydrating well has improved my energy levels and skin health noticeably. I find that having these tasty infused waters handy makes it much easier to meet my daily water intake goals without feeling like a boring task. Give loaded water a try and see which combo becomes your favorite thirst quencher!
Do you cut the blueberries up like you do the other fruit. I would guest not much taste if any at all come out of the blueberry without cutting or smashing it up.
